The 2012 World Cargo Symposium to be held from March 13-16 in Kuala Lumpur will feature discussions, panels, and speakers with special relevance for freight forwarders, say organisers.
Speakers include shippers, freight forwarders, airlines, IT providers, and regulators on security, e-cargo, regulations and customs compliance.
Topics to be covered are shippers’ views on data exchange with freight forwarders, an analysis of the benefits and drawbacks of electronic-airway bills (e-AWB) versus the paper format, the regulatory and contractual considerations for the electronic-AWB; screening regulations, technologies, operational considerations and the challenges and benefits of Customs Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) programmes, a statement said.
Speakers include Karl-Heinz Shaluck, sourcing corporate spend global category lead warehouse and transport at Novartis Pharma, Daniel Ng, head of aviation industry at CAAS, Gerhard Gompf, director of business process optimisation Europe and head of global airmail control at Deutsche Post, Axel Klein, manager handling competence at Lufthansa Cargo and Frederic Leger, head of cargo business process and standards at IATA.
