Inner Mongolia’s Erenhot 2011 Cargo Volume UP

Customs at Inner Mongolian city Erenhot recorded a trade cargo volume of 10.3 million tonnes in 2011, an increase of 19.5 per cent compared to the year before, Xinhua reports.

Imports increased 16.2 per cent to 7.6 million tonnes. Exports jumped 29.8 per cent to 2.7 million tonnes.

The value of this trade cargo grew 28.7 per cent to $3.7 billion. Import value grew 23.2 per cent to $2.3 billion. Export value rose 38.4 per cent to $1.4 billion.

Last year, the city’s railway checkpoint recorded a total of 8,406 runs of inbound and outbound trains while road checkpoint recorded 421,000 inbound and outbound vehicles.
