Maersk sister company Safmarine has added calls northbound at Tangiers, Morocco, on three of its weekly Algeciras-West Africa services, the WAF1, WAF3, and WAF11, reports ComPair Data.
Deploying five ships, averaging 2,283 TEU, the WAF1 loop’s new rotation is Algeciras, Tema, Takoradi, Tangiers and back Algeciras. The WAF3, operating four slightly larger vessels has a revised rotation of Algeciras, Apapa, Tangiers and back and Algeciras while the WAF11, with four same-sized vessels deploys, now rotates through Algeciras, Lome, Port Harcourt-Onne, Tangiers and Algeciras.
Maersk calls at Tangiers eastbound on two of its weekly Asia-Europe services with nine ships averaging 6,086-TEU on its AE9 loop, as well as the much larger AE10, which operates with 11 of the carrier’s biggest vessels in the 14,848-TEU range.
