Suifenhe checkpoint recorded Russian trade value of US$2.3 billion

Northeast China’s Suifenhe checkpoint, on Sino-Russian border, recorded a trade value of US$2.34 billion in 2011, US$2.33 billion was contributed by Sino-Russian trade, Xinhua reports.

The checkpoint’s exports were mainly garment and accessories, electrical and mechanical products, agricultural products and bags, valued at $712 million, 69.5 per cent of the export value total. Imports were mainly lumber, iron ore and fertiliser, valued at $1.3 billion, 96.4 per cent of the total.

Petty border trade was the chief form of trade at the city, which generated a value of $1.6 billion, taking up 68.4 per cent of the checkpoint’s trade value total.
